First, from a structural perspective, the outer shells of standard drying ovens are typically constructed from cold-rolled steel plates; however, there are significant variations in thickness. Due to the vacuum environment created within a vacuum drying oven, the outer shell must be slightly thicker than that of a forced-air drying oven to prevent the chamber from collapsing under atmospheric pressure. To facilitate observation, the doors of drying ovens are equipped with glass windows; these generally consist of either tempered glass or standard glass embedded within the door frame, though some models utilize tempered glass exclusively. Moving from the exterior inward, the inner chamber of a drying oven offers two material options: galvanized steel or mirror-finish stainless steel. Galvanized steel is prone to rusting during prolonged use, making maintenance more difficult; conversely, mirror-finish stainless steel offers a clean aesthetic, is easy to maintain, and boasts a longer service life-though its cost is typically higher than that of galvanized steel. The inner chamber is generally fitted with two shelves for holding samples, with additional shelves available upon customer request.
Speaking of temperature, it is impossible to overlook the critical aspects of thermal insulation and sealing. In domestic drying ovens, the primary insulating material used is fibrous cotton, while a smaller number of models utilize polyurethane. In terms of thermal performance, polyurethane offers superior heat resistance and insulation capabilities compared to fibrous cotton; typically, polyurethane can maintain a stable high temperature within the chamber for several hours, and its highly efficient insulating properties effectively prevent the exterior of the oven from becoming excessively hot. Drying ovens insulated with fibrous cotton, on the other hand, often require frequent monitoring and adjustment by a temperature controller to maintain internal temperature stability when operating at high temperatures. Regarding long-term maintenance, repairs for polyurethane-insulated ovens can be somewhat complex because the material is injected as a single, integral unit into the chamber structure; maintenance procedures for fibrous cotton insulation, however, are relatively straightforward. Fibrous cotton is a more economical option that satisfies the majority of insulation requirements, making it a widely adopted material. Industry experience indicates that both the fineness and thickness of the fibrous cotton directly influence its thermal insulation performance. Finally, the sealing mechanism for drying ovens typically employs aging-resistant silicone rubber.

 

Beyond thermal insulation and sealing, the core technical metrics used to evaluate a drying oven's temperature performance include temperature deviation and temperature uniformity. Temperature deviation refers to the discrepancy between the oven's set temperature and its actual average temperature, thereby reflecting the precision of the equipment's temperature control system. Temperature uniformity, conversely, refers to the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various locations within the oven at a specific moment, thereby reflecting the consistency of the temperature distribution throughout the chamber. These two metrics serve as critical parameters for evaluating the performance and quality of a drying oven; specific requirements regarding them are typically stipulated in product specifications or industry standards (such as GB/T 30435-2013). A high-quality drying oven should exhibit minimal temperature deviation and excellent temperature uniformity to ensure the reliability and repeatability of the drying process.

 

Regarding circulating heating performance, the selection of the fan is paramount; options generally fall into two categories: domestic and imported models. Low-noise, high-performance fans generate minimal noise during operation while delivering superior air circulation and rapid heating capabilities. The specific choice of fan can be determined based on individual requirements.

 

Accessory Selection: Standard drying ovens typically do not come equipped with a timer controller, meaning the drying duration must be controlled manually; however, users may opt to add a timer controller based on their specific needs.
