Product Overview

 

Designed according to GB/T 19216.11-2003, which replaces GB 12666.6, and IEC 60331-11, this tester is used to evaluate the ability of wires and cables to continue operating in a specified state under a defined fire source and exposure time.

 

Important components are made of stainless steel for resistance to smoke and gas corrosion. The control system provides a high degree of automation, including automatic ignition, digital display of temperature and time, and convenient observation and recording.

 

The flame source uses propane gas or liquefied petroleum gas. The apparatus is used to measure circuit integrity of cables exposed to flame when the flame temperature reaches at least 750 C.

 

Structural Features

 

  • Stainless steel frame structure with attractive appearance and corrosion resistance.
  • All tooling fixtures are made of stainless steel.
  • Ribbon propane gas burner with Venturi mixer, nozzle length 500 mm and width 15 mm.
  • Three staggered rows of burner holes. Burner front width 15 mm; hole diameter 1.32 mm; hole center spacing 3.2 mm.
  • Guide holes are arranged on both sides of the nozzle plate to maintain flame burning.
  • One end of the specimen rack is fitted with a clamp to secure the specimen, while the other end allows heat to be transferred longitudinally along the specimen.
  • Cable specimen is supported by two metal rings with an intermediate length of approximately 300 mm.
  • Inner diameter of specimen support metal ring is 150 mm, with ring cross-section diameter 10 +/- 2 mm.
  • The burner is located not less than 200 mm above the bottom of the combustion chamber and not less than 300 mm from the chamber wall.
  • The burner transverse axis is 70 +/- 10 mm from the lower end of the cable specimen, and the burner longitudinal axis is about 45 mm from the cable vertical axis.

Combustion System

 

  • One imported air flowmeter and one imported gas flowmeter.
  • Two sets of imported pressure regulating valves and pressure gauges for separate control of air and gas pressure.
  • Imported needle valves precisely control gas flow: air flow 80 +/- 5 L/min; propane flow 5 +/- 0.25 L/min.
  • Ribbon burner with automatic ignition and automatic gas shutoff control.
  • Equipped with intelligent K-type thermocouple temperature measuring device and dual temperature measurement system. Two 1.5 mm diameter thermocouples A and B are mounted horizontally 45 mm to the left and right of the burner centerline to verify flame temperature within 750 +/- 50 C.

 

Control System

 

  • Independent standard electrical control platform.
  • Intelligent detection function; when the specimen short-circuits during the test, the system automatically alarms and shuts off the fire source.
  • Fuse current in specimen circuit: 2 A.
  • Adjustable specimen supply voltage from AC 100 V to 1000 V.
  • Fire exposure time can be freely set, with a standard recommended time of 90 min.
