Product Introduction

The Fourier transform infrared spectrometer is an ideal tool for toxicity testing in fire testing applications. It can be used together with a cone calorimeter or a smoke density chamber to perform online detection of toxic gas components released during combustion.

Typical smoke toxicity components measured in CEM applications include H2O, CO2, CO, N2O, NO, NO2, SO2, HCl, HF, NH3, CH4, C2H6, C3H8, and C2H4. The Gasmet FTIR spectrometer can be easily expanded with new test components and ranges. The measured components and calibration ranges can be changed according to actual application needs, and the technical configuration data are contained in one sampling system.

The FTIR spectrometer is used for online measurement and is ideal for determining trace gas concentrations in combustion tests. All parts of the FTIR analytical system are heated to 180 C. It can analyze both diluted gas and sample gas without pre-drying.

The Gasmet FTIR analytical system consists of the FTIR CX4000 gas analyzer meeting relevant ISO 19702 requirements, the Gasmet industrial PC system, and the Gasmet oxygen sampling system. All relevant components are integrated into a standard 19-inch cabinet.

The system includes power connectors and heated components for the sample line and sampling probe. It runs automatically and is controlled by Calcmet software. Measurement data can be transmitted from the industrial PC to the control room through digital output (ModBus) or 4-20 mA analog output.

The system provides different alarm functions, including function alarms, service alarms, and system alarms. When any alarm signal is activated, instrument air is automatically introduced to prevent condensation.

Functional Technical Parameters

  • Dust filtration above class 2, 2 μm.
  • Moisture-resistant optical window materials suitable for humid working environments.
  • Continuous long-term data testing, continuous recording and storage of spectra and data, and historical data playback.
  • Gas cell materials use gold coating and rhodium coating to resist corrosive gases such as HCl, HCN, and NH3.
  • Can measure mixed gases with H2O up to 40 percent and permanently store the spectral library. After factory gas component calibration, recalibration is not required.
  • Response time T90 <120 s.
  • Full heated-path constant temperature control.
  • Automatic temperature and pressure compensation with user-friendly operation.
  • Low maintenance cost, no sample loss or change, fully automatic testing system, complete safety functions, and fully modular system for maximum flexibility.
  • Before the sampling unit, no dilution or dehydration of the sample gas is required; all parts are heated to 180 C.
  • Industrial PC operation.
  • If the sampler encounters an emergency alarm, instrument air automatically purges the system.
  • Span and zero check valves operate automatically.
  • Uses the CLS calculation method.
  • Can be connected to combustion test equipment for online continuous measurement of toxic gas concentration in smoke.
  • Fully meets ISO 19702 requirements.
