Product Introduction

 

This product is designed and manufactured according to the requirements of UIC 564-2 Appendices 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. It is suitable for fire-resistance testing of rigid non-thermoplastic plastics used in railway locomotives and rolling stock.

 

It can be used to test the fire-resistance characteristics of plywood, fiberboard, particleboard, molded laminates, glass/polyester laminates, and partition walls made of several materials such as plywood and molded laminates. It is not suitable for thermoplastic materials.

 

Common Combustion Chamber Features

 

  • Painted sheet-metal test chamber with volume of 2 m3.
  • Bunsen burner with barrel inner diameter of 10 mm ±2 mm.
  • Imported gas flow control valve from Japan for accurate flame temperature control.
  • Taiwan-brand pressure gauge and pressure regulating valve for precise gas pressure control.
  • Adjustable flame height with automatic ignition.
  • Flame application time and afterflame time adjustable from 0 to 99 min 99 s.
  • Burning angle options: 0 degrees vertical and 45 degrees.
  • Burner can be moved horizontally by an external adjustment handle.
  • Toughened-glass door for easy observation during testing.
  • All internal fixtures made of stainless steel for corrosion resistance and good appearance.
  • Two stainless steel specimen clamps supplied, together with flame height gauge.

  • Appendix 5: specimen size 190 mm x 320 mm; specimen suspended vertically; burner at the bottom of specimen with 45-degree angle; blue flame core height 40 mm ±5 mm; ignition time 30 s.
  • Appendix 6: specimen size 320 mm; specimen suspended vertically; burner at the bottom of specimen with 45-degree angle; blue flame core height 40 mm ±5 mm; ignition time 30 s.
  • Appendix 10 Method B: specimen size 160 mm x 300 mm; specimen suspended vertically; burner at the bottom of specimen with 45-degree angle; blue flame core height 40 mm ±5 mm; ignition time 30 s.
  • Appendices 11 and 12: specimen size 160 mm x 300 mm; specimen suspended vertically; burner applied 50 mm above the bottom of specimen with 45-degree angle; blue flame core height 6 mm ±1 mm; total flame height about 35 mm; nozzle length 48 mm ±1 mm and width 3.0 mm ±0.2 mm, or length 48 mm ±0.5 mm and width 5.0 mm; ignition time 3 minutes.
