For the new energy sector, this development is viewed as a boon. A comprehensive overview of China's stock market corroborates this point: the share prices of Chinese green energy companies are soaring, and an increasing amount of idle capital is flowing into the new energy and environmental protection industries. Concurrently, China is poised to surpass Europe and emerge as the world's largest growth market for alternative energy. Against this backdrop, the new energy sector should seize this opportunity to actively advance the development of wind power, solar energy, and other sources, thereby increasing the proportion of new energy within the overall energy mix.

 

Geothermal energy resources refer to the total heat content contained within the rocks and water bodies beneath the Earth's landmasses, extending to a depth of 5,000 meters. Specifically, global high-temperature geothermal resources-defined as those found within the top 3 kilometers of the Earth's crust with temperatures exceeding 150°C-amount to the equivalent of 1.4 million tons of standard coal; several nations have already commenced their commercial development and utilization. The global potential for wind energy stands at approximately 350 billion kilowatts; however, due to the intermittent and dispersed nature of wind, its economic utilization remains challenging. Should significant advancements be achieved in energy transmission and storage technologies in the future, the utilization of wind power is expected to increase. Ocean energy encompasses tidal energy, wave energy, ocean thermal energy conversion, and similar sources, boasting theoretical reserves that are truly substantial. Nevertheless, constrained by current technological limitations, this sector remains largely in a small-scale research phase. At present, given that the technologies for utilizing new energy sources are still in their nascent stages, they account for only a minuscule fraction of the world's total energy demand; however, they hold immense potential for future growth and development.
