Battery Enclosure Torch And Grit Test System

Sep 01, 2026 Leave a message

Designed in accordance with standards such as UL 2596-2023, this system is specifically designed to simulate the effects of high-temperature flames and mechanical impact (grit blasting)-associated with battery thermal runaway events-on battery enclosure materials.

1. System Overview
The Battery Enclosure Torch and Grit Test System is designed and developed based on UL 2596-2023. It simulates the high-temperature and mechanical impact stresses found in battery thermal runaway events, serving as a test method for screening electric vehicle (EV) enclosure materials. Battery enclosures and their constituent materials play a critical role in EV safety; this test method utilizes small-scale testing to help predict material performance during thermal runaway events.

2. Reference Standard
UL 2596-2023: Test Method for Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Battery Enclosure Materials.
