Instrument Overview

 

The radiant reflective performance tester is suitable for the different testing requirements of textile and apparel, petrochemical, labor safety protection, and quality supervision institutions for evaluating the thermal protective performance of protective clothing. It provides a scientific and reliable basis for the development of flame-retardant protective clothing, quality control during production, and performance verification during service use.

 

The instrument is used to test the thermal protective performance of protective clothing, safety shoes, gloves, helmets, and other external protective surfaces. It evaluates the thermal protective behavior of materials under a defined radiant heat source.

 

Structural Features

 

  • Stainless steel frame structure with attractive appearance, corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning.
  • Heat source consists of one group of radiant heat sources and two convective heat sources positioned at 10 to 30 degrees.
  • The radiant heat source uses 9 T-150 infrared quartz lamps.
  • The convective heat source uses two imported Meker burners.
  • Equipped with a movable stainless steel protective plate to ensure test safety and reliability.
  • Basic components include specimen clamp assembly, burner and radiant heat source assembly, constant-temperature water tank system for the heat flux sensor, data acquisition system, fuel control regulator, and rotary gas flow meter.
  • Two imported Meker burners are arranged at 10 to 30 degrees.
  • The inner tube diameter is 38 mm and the internal bore is 5/16 inch, providing heat output of 800 to 1200 BTU. The burner outlet uses a metal mesh structure, and the lower air valve can adjust the mixing ratio of air and combustible gas.
  • The array of 9 T150 quartz infrared tubes provides radiant heat flux of 13 kW/m2 +/- 4 kW/m2.
  • By adjusting the gas supply to the Meker burners under quartz infrared radiation, the total heat flux can be set to 84 kW/m2 +/- 2 kW/m2.
  • The constant-temperature water tank control system prevents condensation on the heat flux sensor in winter and helps maintain measurement accuracy.
  • The distributed copper plate calorimeter cooling fan is positioned away from the heat source for rapid cooling and operator safety.
  • The pneumatic withdrawal shield and specimen movement arrangement keeps the specimen and heat flux sensor away from the heat source to reduce burn risk.

 

Control System

 

  • Imported water-cooled calibration heat flux sensor from the United States with working range 0 to 120 kW/m2 and maximum use range of 150%.
  • Heat flux sensor response time less than 200 ms, emissivity greater than 0.95, and output signal greater than 5 mV within the working range.
  • Radiant heat flux display instrument provides immediate heat flux value display.
  • Measures the thermal protective performance coefficient TPP and displays time-temperature curves.
  • Two Kofloc flow meters adjust combustible gas flow, with accuracy of +/-2% and range of 0 to 3 L/min.
  • Pointer pressure gauge with pressure reduction valve for adjusting inlet gas pressure, valve range 0 to 0.4 MPa.
  • Temperature acquisition system resolution 0.1 C and accuracy +/-0.75 C.
  • Automatic data acquisition system sampling rate at least 10 Hz and provides cold-junction compensation for thermocouple data.
  • Supplied with computer and printer, including standard test software and standard test curves.
  • Equipped with TPP thermal protective performance value testing software.
  • Equipped with TPE thermal protective performance evaluation software.
  • The customer needs to provide an external air supply device.
