• Under fault or overload conditions, electrical parts or components may reach excessive temperatures or ignite nearby parts.
• The glow-wire test simulates thermal stress caused in a short time by hot elements or ignition sources such as overloaded resistors, and evaluates fire hazard by simulation technology.

• Glow-wire loop made of nickel-chromium wire, 77% Ni and 20 ±1% Cr, outer diameter 4.00 ±0.07 mm, annealed.
• Temperature range: 500 to 1000 °C, digitally adjustable.
• Temperature tolerance: ±3 °C within 500 to 1000 °C; temperature measuring instrument accuracy ±0.5 class.
• Temperature sensor: 1 mm K-type armored imported thermocouple, brand OMEGA, USA.
• Force applied by glow wire to specimen: 0.95 ±0.1 N, adjustable within 0.8 to 1.2 N, accuracy ±0.1 N, with penetration depth limited to at least 7 mm.
• Timer range adjustable from 0 to 99 min 99 s.
• Includes timers for flame application time (Ta, generally 30 s according to the standard), afterflame time (Ti), and flame extinction time (Te).
• Time tolerance: ±1 s.
• Ignition pad layer: white pine board with minimum thickness 10 mm, covered with 12 to 30 g/m3 standard tissue paper, positioned 200 ±5 mm below the glow wire.
