Product Overview
The TESTech fire resistance assemblies tester is designed and developed according to IEEE 1202 and IEEE 383. The TESTech UL 1685 wire and cable burning tester is used to evaluate the ability of single or bunched cables to inhibit flame spread under specified conditions and meets the test requirements of UL 1685, IEEE 383, and IEEE 1202.
The UL flame contact test is a vertical tray flame test. When a cable is exposed to a fire source and burns, the damaged height of the cable and the smoke release determine the test result. Only cables that meet the UL test procedure are accepted.
The device can be used to evaluate the flame spread behavior of single-core and multi-core cables. It can also be expanded with gas analysis equipment for measuring HRR, smoke density, and related parameters.


Main Features
- Test chamber size: 2,600(W) x 2,600(D) x 3,100(H) mm; volume 20.28 m3; internal area 6.76 m2.
- All internal tooling is made of stainless steel.
- The combustion chamber is equipped with smoke exhaust openings and fresh air intake openings.
- Test room walls are constructed of concrete blocks or refractory materials and include an observation window.
- The test room includes a steel access door.
- Bidirectional probe differential pressure meter measures gas velocity in the flue, using an imported differential pressure sensor with pressure accuracy of 0.025 Pa.
- K-type thermocouple detects flue temperature.
- Cable support dimensions: 300 mm x 76 mm x 2400 mm.
- Burner consists of a ribbon propane torch and imported burner core.
- Propane flowmeter at standard temperature and pressure of 20 C and 101 kPa: 220 +/- 8 cm3/s.
- Air flowmeter at standard temperature and pressure of 20 C and 101 kPa: 1280 +/- 80 cm3/s.
- Thermocouple and bidirectional velocity probe installed on the exhaust duct measure exhaust gas temperature and flow velocity.
- Tray size: 305 x 76 x 2438 mm; ladder rung width 25 +/- 6 mm; longitudinal span 229 mm.
- Ribbon propane burner with Venturi mixer meeting IEC 60332-3 requirements.
- Data acquisition board accurately captures and measures internal component temperatures and burner flame temperature.
- Solenoid valve and ignition system can be manually controlled from the control panel. In emergencies, power to the instrument, excluding PC power, can be switched off.

Smoke Density System
- Smoke density analysis by automatic beam light system with color temperature 2900 +/- 100 K, current fluctuation +/- 0.5%, linear smoke density output, and time compensation.
- Lens converges the light into a 20 mm parallel beam with d/f less than 0.04.
- Detector spectral response corresponds with CIE, chromaticity standard function accuracy +/- 5%, and output linearity within 3% of transmittance or 1% of absolute transmittance.
Test System
- Digital data acquisition system is used to collect and record smoke density and pressure measurements. System speed and capacity allow data collection every 5 seconds.
- The nominal exhaust gas flow in the duct is 0.65 +/- 0.05 m3/s.
- Computer control system with Labview software, featuring an attractive and easy-to-operate interface.
